LP+ and CC3

Hi again, another LP+ question

Anyone have it running perfectly successfully on a CC3 setup?

 

I've spent a good while scratching my head about the setup - trusted sites are added globally, that's not a problem, however one particular site we have a problem with signing in. You log into Enable ok, but click another link within your site and it always asks you to sign in again.

 

IE7 throughout the site, I've tried adjusting the relevant settings like clearing cookies, not storing temporary or encrypted files and nothing appears to resolve this. LP+ are pretty much at a loss and I don't have this problem on other CC3 sites - yet the settings are just about identical.

I'll sort out some details for you a little later on, however bearing in mind the type of issue (it's going to be a CC3 specific problem and LP+ have already scratched their heads plenty of times about it) it might be something simple on the RM side of things. I've got all of LP+'s details and configuration pages (which are specific to IE6 annoyingly, everything this side is IE7) and those don't corrollate to CC3 management.

Did you manage to resolve this issue?

 

I remember (a long time ago) having a similar issue on CC3 but managed to resolve it. What I can't remember right now is the exact fix. I could be wrong but I'm sure I had to write a simple .reg file which is deployed via the CC3 management console.

 

I appreciate my shocking memory is not being any help to you just yet, but next time I'm at the school I'll try and remember to check it out for you.

Yeah, strangely enough it was one of the last things I thought to check.

The site's installation of Office 2003 was pre SP1, so as a "it needs doing and it can't hurt" I rolled out 2003 SP3 to the stations. Lo and behold, both uploading/downloading document problems and the double-logins dissapeared. Why the version of Office had effect on the logins, I don't know - I can only guess that perhaps something in the registry was tweaked as a result of doing so.

Oooh ... that is interesting to hear. Could you let Kevin et al know you fixed that? I'll pass that on to LP+ too to see if it helps anyone else.

Already fired off an email to the folks at my end to get them to check the version of Office installed.

 

Also, the rollout of XP SP3 appears to have eased some issues for schools too, mostly in performance and cookie issues.

 

Might be worth if LP+ added something in their documentation to that effect too, as well as updating their IE settings pages to conform with IE7/8 instead of 6.
