Primary School Website....

Hey Guys,

 

Im rebuilding the websitre for my daughters primary school. It is currently hosted by NETLinc which is Lincolnshire County Council's thing.

 

The current webiste is ok, looks like its been done in frontpage, its just simple HTML with images and links to other HTML.

 

I was looking to Jazz it up a bit, someone has suggested I use Joomla. I see many people rave about it on here and the templates look great.

 

Simple question if i build my webiste in joomla will it be just as simlpe to upload to NETLinc and away??

 

Might give them a call tommorow but wondered if any linconshire techys knew??

No.

 

Joomla needs an SQL database so you'll have to find out if Lincs provide/will setup one for you and let you have the database name/password.

 

Joomla's a whole different ball game than Frontpage but as long as you can get an SQL database and can do FTP then we can help you get it going

youll need to put in a change request form to Mouchel (what netlinc was) and ask for advanced hosting which includes sql and php.
