rh91uk Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Hi all, have any of you ever experienced a redirecetd start menu hanging on a roaming profile? checked all permissions ... all seem to be fine. start menu redirected to a share on our network. Would appreciate any advice ... at a loss here! ta, rh91uk
scotty Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Hi We had something similar to this we found it to be a broken link, one of the programs shortcuts in the start menu didn't have the actual software installed on the PC if you get what I mean haha... Hope this helps 1

Hope this helps I get what you mean, will look at links now. Thanks very much How big is the start menu folder ? Have you added or changed anything recently ? Start Menu folder is 298kb (not very big at all, I think you'll agree! ;-)). Thanks for all the suggestions
srochford Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Start procmon running on the machine and then click start - watch as it tries to find icons etc for each program. At some point you should see "file not found" errors; that program on the start menu doesn't exist (or is in an inaccessible network location etc) 1
