mullet_man Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 I have an old printer setup in Maths area which is parallel only which is now BER (beyond econimcal repair), I was wondering if a USB to Parallel convertors will work with a jetdirect printer server. As to purchase a new cheap HP laser printer, they are USB only. Thanks. Stpehen.
plexer Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 A usb to parallel converter allows you to connect a parallel printer to a computer via it's usb ports not the other way around. Ben
mullet_man Posted October 10, 2006 Author Posted October 10, 2006 Thanks, is there such cables as usb to parallel?
Guest richard Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 You could always get a USB print server like this one: Netgear PS121
Ric_ Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 OLr buy a 2nd user LaserJet 4100n for under £150!
mullet_man Posted October 10, 2006 Author Posted October 10, 2006 Thanks for the advice guys!!! Money is tight, so might relocate a printer from somewhere.
