Does anyone use a citrix provisioning server - please help

hi

at the school where i work we have a citrix provisioning server ( a physical server, not vm) We are very happy with how it was working, now we need to create a new image for the machines. The net manager who was shown how to do this has now left and we are not having much luck.

What we have done:

Created new virtual disk (in provisioning server console(on server))

Created an image on a computers hdd

Mounted vdisk and formatted

Then i set the v disk to writeable (in the provisioning console)

I then used citrix image builder on the xpmachine, to upload the image

It seems to copy the files up ok, so i then switch it to boot from v disk (in the console) and it hangs before the windows xp splash screen.

the error is: (just after it has got a pxe boot address from dhcp, i have checked dhcp it is configured properly) remove disks then press any key (or something along those lines.)

please help, even a pdf manual telling me would help. as we have no support with this. (previous net man did not purchase any!)

thank you

I've not used Provisioning Server myself but you didn't leave any ISOs connected to the virtual CD drive did you? (in particular ones that are no longer available).

the client machine which i am trying to pull the image from has no virtual cd drive and no cd in the physical cd drive.

it only has a hard disk and a vdisk which you have to tell it which one to boot from in the prov server console. it will not boot off of vdisk.
