Our Media dept have a suite of Macs and Myspace doesn't work on them, which is rather inconvenient for them as their lesson plans are based upon accessing the site. Apart from switching the class to a Windows classroom, do we have any other options ? Is IE for Mac worth installing as it appears a trifle dated ?

I did try installing the IE tab for Firefox, but got an incompatibility message (with the OS).

Hi

Strange as it displays OK for me?

Are you accessing the site via a Proxy by any chance? Is this Proxy tied in with an AD Policy in some way? Perhaps an AD applied Filter which works fine with IE and not Firefox? What happens if you add a client workstation to your whitelist and try again? Have you tried downloading Opera or Mozilla or even Netscape for OSX to see if the problem persists? There may also be other alternate browsers which you could Google for yourself?

Microsoft dropped support for IE on the mac platform about 3-4 years ago. The last version was 5.2.3 IIRC? I doubt if you'll have much joy with it if the OS is Snow Leopard 10.6 as support via Rosetta for older applications is limited. It's possible it may work if the OS is Leopard 10.5? Even if it did work It may have a problem displaying some sites?

Screenshots would be good. I use MySpace all the time on Macbook, Macbook Pro and iMacs, from OSX 10.5 to 10.6 using Safari and it works absolutely fine. You might want to check that all the fonts are available to all log ins. I've seen display format anomolies caused by some fonts being disabled. Just a thought.
