GLPI Tickets

I think I am being incredibly stupid. I am slowly getting GLPI setup. I have LDAP all linked, I have OCS all sorted, rooms in there, even groups set up. The one thing I can see confusing our users is that when they submit a ticket they will have to search to find the device. Most of them will not know the name. Does an item assigned to a group not become available for that user? How do others get users to submit what item is bust?
