Hi All,

 

Has anyone here ever bothered modelling and/or load simulating their network? If so what software did you use?

 

I've been set this task and the best software I've found is OPNET - we used it at uni and its not bad. Trouble with it is it's strictly academic - setting the size and content of your IP packets is all well and good, but a modern network simulator really ought to allow you to simulate a wireless network of more than 11Mbps connection speed!!!

Yeah you're right it does look like you have sign up to their academy stuff to get it. Unless you rip it off I suppose, but thats probably not such a good idea at work!!!

 

It's odd that there doesn't seem to be much call for software like this, its dead useful (if a bit tedious to map an entire network!!)
