Tyiell Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Hi All, Has anyone here ever bothered modelling and/or load simulating their network? If so what software did you use? I've been set this task and the best software I've found is OPNET - we used it at uni and its not bad. Trouble with it is it's strictly academic - setting the size and content of your IP packets is all well and good, but a modern network simulator really ought to allow you to simulate a wireless network of more than 11Mbps connection speed!!! Unless you rip it off I suppose, but thats probably not such a good idea at work!!! It's odd that there doesn't seem to be much call for software like this, its dead useful (if a bit tedious to map an entire network!!)
