Shadows under Icons

Hi all

 

I was wondering if anyone has come across this. We have set a new desktop background which is white with lots of text from the school on, etc - school name etc etc.

 

We are getting a really small amount of complaints, so I want to try and darken the shadows under the desktop icons a bit. I obviously know how to do this to individual workstations, but do any of you know a registry key or GPO even that I can set to darken them en mass.

 

Help would be appreciated!

If I'm understanding your question right. The setting you want is in System Properties > Advanced tab > Performance section click Settings. If you set it to not Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop, it will show a black background for the text of your icons so they can read it just fine.

 

As far as applying it to all the pcs. This is the best I could find.
