As part of one of our games design courses run in partnership with a local university we are required to run Unreal Tournament 3. I've managed to install this onto our machines without issue but the problem comes when I try to put the CD Key in. I can input the CD key logged in as myself and it will work fine but as soon as I login as a different user I'm prompted for the CD key again. I've tried the following with no effect:

  • Copying my own profile over that of Default User, then logging in as a new user.
  • Copying the "My Games" folder from My Documents into another user's My Documents.
  • Using the -nohomedir switch on the shortcut.
  • Copying the config files from My Documents\My Games to the app dir (in Program Files). Interestingly enough, with this last approach the files were recreated in my own My Documents without issue, but only for me and not any other users.

If anyone's managed this in the past or has any ideas of what could be worth trying I'd be most grateful.

Hi

I dont know the answer to this but what I would do is delete your profile from a machine and use regmon to monitor the registry and see what it is doing. Find the keys that it is entering and export them.

Then in the users ou put a group policy that will silently install the registry keys when the user logs on.
