donalouise Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Anyone in Birmingham know what's happening with the December upgrade? Link2ICT had it on it's website this morning but now it's got the September upgrade back on. Thought I was going mad for a moment then!
ChrisJ Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Somebody had one too many mince pies and accidentally edited the wrong page The upgrade should be going out soon.
SkywOrca Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 That would be my fault. I was working on release documentation and accidentally edited the live pages! Latest news is that a last minute bug has been discovered in the release. We're awaiting confirmation from Serco on a resolution and we'll be posting the release as soon as we can.
donalouise Posted December 15, 2009 Author Posted December 15, 2009 Oops springs to mind Thanks for the info. At least I'm not seeing things
APC Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Just to clarify, Serco have released an upgrade... Here in Birmingham we have identified additional issues which we feel would cause problems for our schools and we have requested additional fixes from Serco before we release to the schools we support. We understand that other LA / Support Teams are taking the same view at present..

SkywOrca Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 The specific issue we're delaying the release for is to do with recording attendance for excluded pupils in ePortal. Basically, if you have a student excluded from school the roll call screen in ePortal always shows their attendance as a blank cell, even if marks have been entered. If you then submit marks the system accepts the blank cell as a present and overwrites whatever marks should be there. Serco are working on a patch for this which should resolve the issue, we're just waiting on details of this. Details have been posted to the Serco Firstline forums if you'd like to keep tabs on the current status.
