XIBO Client Side

Hi Just in the process of testing out XIBO for our Digital Signage, got the server side setup fine. but Ive got the client and every time I click register the result I get is ..........

 

Value Cannot be null

Parameter name: Stream

 

Can anyone help with this, any Ideas?

What did you use for the server side? wamp?

for your server are you putting in "http://ipetc".. rathern than just ip

Im using xampp.

 

Got it setup as follows

 

XIBO server - \\xibo\c$\xampp\htdocs\xibo

Collection interval for content 900

 

XIBO server URL - \\xibo\c$\xampp\htdocs\xibo/xmds.php

to connect the client you should give it the web path. http:// etc

As above, it should be

 

http://{ip of xibo server}/xibo

 

What you are doing is pointing it to the windows/smb share

Can you get to the admin website on server. ?? webserver running?

iirc WAMP requires you to "go online" before it will allow connections from computers other than the server itself. Click the icon in the taskbar

can use a surprising amount of ram if you are pushing big power points out etc so it is worth looking down the linux root.

so you have done the web based setup. can happily browse the web admin interface.

 

got the password for the client set correctly. can actually ping the server from the client. etc? can browse the admin website from the client...

do you have to put /xibo to get to your admin interface if so:

so if you put http://ip/xibo/xmds.php into the web browser of the page you should get something yes?

 

if you dont try just putting http://ip into the client

 

not running a proxy server or anythign silly like that are you?
