Ipod Question

Daughter wants to buy an ipod with her birthday money and intends to watch some films on it, but as usual it will be down to me to sort that out. Now, I have no experience of ipods at all so what format do the films have to be in (from her own DVD's I presume) and how do you put them on the Ipod..USB? Does any music put on the ipod have to be in a specific format or are mp3's OK? Sorry know I work in IT but a bit of a numpty when it comes to these things...bit like I am with photocopiers and mobile phones!

MP3's are fine. Itunes will convert any music you have into the correct format.

Videos are normally in MP4 format and you can convert the DVD's into this format

with free converters on the internet.

 

Depending on what you want to use the iPod for and how much music you have i

would recommend the ipod touch 8gb - latest 3rd gen is £139.

I would go with the iPod Touch as well. Apple (United Kingdom) - iPod touch - Music, games, apps and more on a great iPod.

As Sam has said MP3's will be fine.

Yes, thats the one she is looking at, did hear that teachers get some discount if bought via the Apple shop, but not had the chance to look in to this yet. Thanks for all the help.

Yes all education staff get discount look at education site on apple.com (does not have to be brought for school) and if from HE (or a student at HE) then you get even bigger discount..
