Slow start and shutdown on Windows XP pro

Hi

 

I have just changed the screen and backlight on one of our fujitsu siemens laptop and for some reason the start is very slow and shutdown is almost taking up to 5 to 6 mins!

 

COuld this be a hardware or software issue? Any suggestions?

I would start with is it overheating, hard drive test, startup programs, virus or broken sophos, spyware.

According to the user, the laptop was started one day and it was just on a dark screen, you could see windows loading but very faded in the background!

 

Laptop didn't look like as if it had been dropped but you never know!

It sounds like the backlight. But the real question is did it break or was it broken.
