TwoZeroAlpha Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 Having seen this beer advertised in another thread, I decided with a name like that and it being the "world's strongest beer" I had to have a bottle. So I placed an order. Today my bottle finally arrived from brewdog.com Tactical Nuclear Penguin - My bottle So now I have a dilemma. Do I keep it (Batch Number is 001 Expiry Nov 2019) as a collectors item and buy another one to drink. Or drink this one and keep the bottle. Feeling drawn towards keeping it as a collectors thing, but trying to rationalise the cost of another bottle. Comments, thoughts, suggestions?
TwoZeroAlpha Posted December 7, 2009 Author Posted December 7, 2009 That's probably going to have to be it. I've just checked the brewery website.. it's jumped another £5 from when I got mine and it's now out of stock. Drinkies it is.
ZeroHour Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 hehe drink it, that brewery is just up the road (30 mins drive or so) from me
Andrew_C Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Have you tried Carlsberg's "Elephant Beer"? Nothing like as strong (32%!! 'k me!), but a similar effect to drinking it can be achieved by chilling it, beating yourself around the head with the cold can, and putting it back in the fridge for tomorrow. I suspect your Penguin will be similar in effects... 1
sidewinder Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 You have to drink it, I want to know what its like! Not sure I could fork out £30 for a beer tbh...wouldnt mind giving the 18% Tokyo one a try though, thats 'only' a tenner 1
fafster Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I'm pretty certain I've had a Brew Dog beer. Not the Penguin one, but it wasn't that nice.
TwoZeroAlpha Posted December 8, 2009 Author Posted December 8, 2009 I've has Chaos Theory and Dogma from them before, nice strong ales (well I liked them). Apparently this one is very mellow even though it's stupidly strong thanks to the ageing process they used. Well I shall report back later in the month, I've got to wait for my Brother to get back for Christmas, going to share a glass of cheer with him and my Dad. :drunken_smilie:
