iTunes Replacement

Just updated my iTunes tonight and in its wisdom its gone and corrupted some 70% of my 9,000 mp3's as well as its database. I have got backups of everything but I'm now beginning to to get fed up of iTunes as its getting more and more bloated and more unstable with each release. So now I'm in the market for a new media player for my computers that can handle large amounts of MP3's and custom playlists easily as well as syncing my iPod Nano.

I use foobar, quality media player.

 

I'm not to sure about syncing with iPods, you may be able to use this with it - iPod manager - musicmusic's foobar2000 stuff

I have tried foobar in the past and it doesn't like the size of music collection as it kept freezing at random intervals.

You could always try Songbird;

Supposed to look and feel functionally similar to iTunes (although this was ages ago, it may have changed a bit since then,) yet is supposedly better. Haven't tried it myself, although I have heard good things about it, especially from those who like the interface to iTunes but hate it for some reason or another.

I have looked at Songbird in the past but found again that it didn't like large libraries of music it may have got better now but I'm still a bit wary of it.
