Cornwall BSF bid not happening?

I have heard some rumours today, that Cornwall's BSF project is not happening???

 

Does any body know anything more? Is it temporary or completely not happening?

There was an announcement made yesterday about further funding, Cornwall was not on the list of successful bidders....

 

12 LAs were granted funding out of 20 that submitted bids.

When is the next time they can apply? They really thought they'd get through- they had pretty much moved to the next stage with planning.

Does anyone know if this is confirmed news? (I'm not familiar with the website so wouldn't like to take it as gospel)

Face-Man posted this link yesterday about the same story.... from the local government chronicle... so I suspect it is true.

It may be that the Cornwall bid was rejected for some technical reason...

I believe they can reapply early next year but I don't know when.

 

EDIT - Possibly as early as Jan?

 

Can't say for sure why it was rejected.

 

EDIT - A lare part of the reason for rejection is likely to be the recent OfSTED for the Childrens Services department and the fact that as an authority Cornwall really needs to be concentrating on Safeguarding at the moment and getting that sorted.
