Web design in OCR 2 & 3

We deliver OCR level 2 and 3, but are coming across problems with the web design tasks. School provides Dreamweaver 2004 MX & CS4 and Serif WebPlus X2 however staff and students have issues with using these packages as they are "too feature rich".

 

As the specs for the OCR courses do not require the full capability of the packages we have. Is there a cut down version of a web design application that doesn't allow students and staff to get stuck quite so easily.

 

The point regarding training is one we are fully aware of, but my question in this topic is about an alternative application to have a look at.

Tbh they are simple to use and many of the features are.hidden. we use dreamweaver and it works perfectly for the Ocr nationals

I can only agree with you, however if anyone does have a suggestion of some other software we would appreciate it.

Maybe try Frontpage as it very very easy to use but there might be one or two things you might not be able to do for the OCR nationals. Or try Microsoft expression since that has replaced frontpage, it might be as easy to use.

Another hidden gem is Microsoft's SharePoint Designer 2007 which, despite the name and the marketing, actually has all the functionality of FrontPage 2003 (and then some) for standard non-SharePoint web sites - and it's now a free download!
