Have seen a couple and think that we could do with more people like that in the world.

I watch it whenever I can. I just wonder if it's all fixed though? Almost invariably, the couple of teenagers are real *****. They smoke, drink, don't comply etc. and refuse to follow the rules of their own and temporary homes. About half way into the program, one or other suddenly sees the light and starts to comply, followed shortly thereafter by the other. There is often a "heart to heart" between one of the teenagers and one of the temporary parents when all the bad things in their life (which has, supposedly, resulted in their poor behaviour at home and during the program) are discussed and tears flow.

At the end of the program, it's all hugs and they go home changed teenagers!

I realise that the week is heavily edited to produce the one hour prorgam but I just wonder if the teenagers are primed somehow to lay on their bad behaviour initially. I respect the families that take on the teenagers - I'm sure that if I had behaved like that when I was their age (MANY years ago), my parents would have flattened me!

I agree with you about it not being what the picture paints.

I would hope that the majority of the kids who get to take part in the experience would change their behaviour in some way ( i wouldnt expect them to become saints overnight though)

I was watching episode 1 from season 2 last night and i was cringing at the attitudes of the two kids; as soon as they arrived at their host parents house they lit up cigarettes.
