At the moment all users (Bar admins!) have roaming profiles but I think it may be causing issues.

At the moment users can't save settings, for example in IE a prompt may say "do you want to rememeber this setting" and they click yes but on next log on it returns.

Can anyone suggest the pros and cons of using roaming profiles?

Is it an easy task to swap 80 ish people (staff) over to roaming profiles.

I have about a thousand other jobs to do, as we all do, so I keep putting this off but I thought it was time I grabbed the bull by the horns for this one!

Theres a admin pack floating around that you can import into AD/GP to fix some stuff in IE like that.

You could possibly just redirect their %APPDATA% folder onto their home drive or another space where they can write (That won't fix everything, eg: apps that write to the registry).

Good point - had forgotten you could do that :)

I do this routinely every time I've changed the setup on the curriculum machines, installed or updated software.

It just makes sure that the pupil mandatory profile is in line with everything that I've done.
