Smartboard not recognised in USB port

I've a Smartboard that's not being recognised through the USB port and thus the Smartboard driver software. It's not the workstation or the USB cable and I'm starting to suspect firmware on the board itself. Any ideas on how I can prove/disprove it ?

What model is the board? Has the PC ever worked with a Smartboard?

The Smartboard is a 500 series. The workstation has been working for a year with that Smartboard. I've also tried the Smartboard with my laptop with similar results i.e a USB message saying that an unknown device has been connected and the Smartboard driver cannot find a Smartboard.

try updating the software to the latest version. We had a similar issue which was resolved when updating. Also if it worked then suddenly stopped, could the USB cable be at fault and not the board?

Really stupid here but try a different USB port. We had this some time ago and it was the P just decided that that USB port no longer want the SB, another port worked fine and has done ever since! Weird

Thanks. A new USB cable was tried and didn't solve the problem.

Thanks. I tried that and no difference. I've also tried my laptop instead of the pc and that didn't make a difference either.
