Best multimedia stand for hall

Hi, we currently wheel our projector into the hall, and we use a crappy stand that is falling apart.

 

I have been given the go ahead to invest into a multimedia stand trolley thingie, I need a section for projector, speakers and laptop.

 

Anyone have any suggestions or ones to miss, nothing to expensive.

The ceiling! I've never come accross a trolley that actually works very well, far better to get it installed if you can.

But if you are going for some kind of trolley, I have seen some schools use something along these lines before now, but it's always better to get a projector mounted, else everytime you use it you have to set it up and get it lined up etc, and if you're leaving staff to do it .. well .. more work for you when they do something wrong.

Yep, I got a qoute for ceiling mounted a year ago or so, and it was too much then they were willing to pay.

Depending on the size of the screen you have ...

 

If it's SmartBoard sized, what about looking at one of the short throw systems and having it wall mounted above the board. We use on of the Promethean systems in one of my schools for the hall which seems to work nicely. Arm swings out when you want to use it, when you want to stow it, arm swings back to the wall.

 

Just another option. Ours is an older version, but this is the current version from doing a quick glance on their site.

 

I'm sure some of the sponsors may be able to offer you some other suggestions and solutions too.

I'm trying to persuade my place to buy one of these so that the kit can be wheeled from hall to hall and set up easily and quickly but the price is putting them off somewhat.

I know one school who have a wall mounted projector. It's mounted about 9 foot off the ground and about the same distance back as a normal ceiling mounted projector. The projector's keystone sorts it all out.

 

They actualy did it because their hall is listed and they can't attach anything to the roof.

We had a trolley and a portable screen. It was a right pain. At 2.30pm I'd get a call to say it was wanted for a 2.35pm assembly. We then had a ceiling mounted projector and a pull-down screen. The screen lasted 3 months with heavy handed use. So now we have a remote operated electric job.

 

The system gets used regularly. In fact, I'm making a video tutorial today on how to use the Hall AV stuff.

We have a white wall, so we just projector on the wall, but our stand is failing apart.

 

I need a stand which has space for speakers, projector and laptop.

We can display onto the back wall and it's great for backgrounds. I filmed various parts of town for an assembly and it was quite effective. Trouble is, because of the design of the stage, people sitting on the sides can't see the whole display, so the drop down screen is further forward. This get in the way of performers but there's no way around it.
