dos ISO

Can anyone post up a dos .iso I can use with virtualbox to boot to dos please.Also, does dos have the net use r: \\blah command built into it?

Dos does not have the net use command built in, infact it doesn't even have TCP/IP built in.

 

You won't get an ISO on here for two reasons, one despite does being ancient it's still copyrighted and two it was distributed on floppy disks and not CD.

Or if you want to run old games have a look at DOSBox, an x86 emulator with DOS

Im sure I still have enough licenses for dos kicking about heh

 

But yeh, its just for playing old games, im on ubunto so will need to do it in a VM, but Ill look into dosbox, cheers

You should be able to use Universal Network Bootdisk, which has the Net Use command.

You can get MS-DOS 6.22 off Technet. I had an interesting morning once when I challenged myself to get a VM running DOS 6.22, Windows 3.11 and browsing the web.

I think it took 2 hours.... the hardest bit was getting the MS download into a Virtualbox-friendly format.

There's Linux version, I think it might even be in the Ubuntu depositories.
