browolf Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 perhaps these aren't specific to ubuntu 9.10 issues but 1. how to disable that annoying keyring thing. 2. how to remove bookmarked network locations that don't work 3. when I connect to a remote windows share it puts an icon on the desktop. I like that icon but when I come back next day it's disappeared. how to keep the icon
ahuxham Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 3. I assume its mounting as a temporary share. Modify "fstab" to automatically mount this share and the icon should remain intact, that providing that GDM 2.8 reads FSTAB and associates icons to the Desktop. 1

webman Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 If you're using the Places menu to get to the share, you have the option of adding the connection as a bookmark, which will re-mount the share when you access the bookmark. 1
