Installing Squid

Hi I was looking for a detailed guide on how to install ubuntu squid and dansgardian on a test machine. A quick question.

 

• What version of ubuntu desktop or server?

Either really, theres no real difference apart from a resources stand-point.

 

If you're not overly familiar with linux command line, grep, nano/vi/emacs and the likes you might find it alot easier using the GUI to get everything configured and installed.

 

Or go server route and get webmin installed and configure from there.

Too many to name, there are basic guides all over the show, and more advanced ones as well.
