2 homepages using group policy

We are using IE8 and i want two hompages to start when it's opened by the client, one our intranet and another our webmail for teachers (internal exchange url)

 

I know how to set it on tools internet options as you put each url on a line in the general homepage box but i see no option for this under group policy, can anyone help?

User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer > Disable changing secondary home page settings

 

When you enable this policy you can set what the secondary home pages are, and prevent the user from changing them. If you want to set them but allow the user to chamge them, I would investigate setting the corresponding keys in the Registry with Group Policy Preferences.

Guys i tried this but it only opens both tabs when you click home, i want both tabs to open when you open IE8, any suggestions?

Wow this is an old post! with our current AD environment i would do it through group policy prefences

 

user config->preferences->control panel settings and create a new internet setting : setting the homepages in the general tab (one per line)

I have done this (repeatedly) - and I can't get my head around it.

 

I have tried GPPs, GPOs and have banged my head against the wall.

 

Every time that IE is launched only the first homepage tab loads. If the person clicks on Home in IE (same session) then both the first and secondary page are loaded so I know that it is being applied...just not when IE is opening.

 

Any other ideas? Thanks in advance!
