RabbieBurns Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Been asked to look into getting a barcode scanner and barcode tags for all our IT equipment. Our current access database is great, but when someone comes to borrow stuff the db isnt always updated. Thinking with a barcode scanner it will make it easier to log things in and out. Got a mailshot from Seton Duraguard which looks OK, if a bit pricey, but Ive got nothing to compare it to. Is there any other providers of such stuff you can recommend (preferebly multinational that will be available here?)

eean Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Avery do a couple of different types of tough label so you can print your own using a barcode font (you can download one for free). I think we had a metal-type one.

cl0n3 Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Look up Wasp Technologies, their scanners and software looks spot on I found that barcode labels printed using the Wasp barcode printer were not very practical, the ink would just rub off them. The Wasp software was alright though.

detjo Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Yep, we use a USB Wasp scanner and print our own labels with a 3of9 font. Works absolutley fine.
