2008 R2 and Smoothwall Corporate wont authenticate using NTLM

Hi all,

 

We just upgraded to 2008 R2 too and Smoothwall Corporate wont authenticate using NTLM.

 

I too have applied this fix:

Allow Cryptography Algorithms Compatible with Windows NT 4.0 -> Enabled

 

Still not working and Smoothwall is the latest version and fully up-to-date.

 

Ran the Diagnostics and all pass except NTLM Authentication - server connection.

 

I thought, ahh it worked on our old 2008 ADS server before upgrading to R2, so I thought i'll

install another domain controller as 2008, not R2. Still not working even when pointing to that!!

 

Anybody have any ideas?

Found the problem with Smoothwall and 2008 R2.

 

Wasnt anything to do with R2.

 

It requires REVERSE DNS setup for the domain controller ip's.

 

Worked instantly then!! ))
