I have been waiting a while for a newer Android based phone to come out. I really wanted one with a full keyboard but something a bit newer than the G1 etc. Motorola have realeased the Dext and there is supposed to be a Samsung offering at some point.

The reviews seem favourable for the Dext, although I am not really needing to update 4 social networking sites ;) . Anyone got any opinions on it or has anyone got one?

I am curios about an andriod as well to fill in the time before windows mobile 7.

The dext (or driod in the US) is the phone I have been thinking about but not sure what networks etc are going to have it and for how much yet. It looks ace though.

EDIT: its already out on Orange so far I can see for free.

Yup I saw it on Orange but I wasnt sure about their data plan. Having never used data on my mobile is 500 meg going to be enough if you moderate the you tube vids etc?

After looking around a bit it seems the Dext is actually the Cliq in America and the Droid is something different and better. Does this look right?

Well Motorola have just released the DROID in the USA and it is getting some great reviews. It has the Google Maps Sat Nav installed and its free. Others are set to follow with their own models. I guess this may well be the IPhone rival we technical people have been waiting for. I think My Windows Mobile 5 phone may get an upgrade.

The Motorola Milestone (european version of Droid) does look an excellent phone, but the new Sony Xperia X10 looks like the android handset to get!
