Squid and dansguardian access.log only get to 2 gb then all logging stops.

Previously logs would simply create a new file and carry on logging. Therefore the logs directory would have access.log.1 ; access.log.2 and so on.

But now i have one access.log which stops logging at 2gb

Can anyone shed any light on how i can get the logs to create multiple files..!!!

Unfortunately there's a limitation with filesize there - support will be able to help you rotate logs more frequently. This will be worked around "properly" in FP3 (End of the month) and fixed fully next year so we can create 2Gb+ files.

If you are creating 2Gb logs a day it may be time to look at clustering and backing off to the DB for storage (limit there is 34Tb!) but the workaround should sort it OK.

Thanks for quick reply, yes the logs files are around 1 / 2 Gb per day, so may need to look into DB for storage.. Unsure why the logs were not rotating anymore i will have to log a support ticket, as at the moment i'm having to manually delete log file and restart every other day.
