Hi All,

Can anyone help with the following:

My headteacher wants our Samsung infomation screens to show the bbc web streaming live news at lunch time.

While I can easily insert a web element into the screens I need to find the URL that automatically goes to the pop out player or rather full screen. At the momment this URL:

BBC NEWS | Video and Audio | News Channel Live | BBC News Channel

Works fine but has the all the other bbc website stuff around it and I need it full screen without having to select it?

Any ideas what the URL for it might be?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Streaming media - just what large Plasma screens were made for. :D

Don't forget that you will need a TV license for the streaming of live programs.

Dose any body have a idea for the following I want to use the BBC news channel as a screen saver , at present I have a screen that displays shared calendars, I would like the screen saver to kick in after one min and the screen saver to be the BBC news channel , so when a user comes up to the computer they wiggle the mouse and thay see the calendars ,thay walk away and teh news channel kicks back in,

Shane.

The quickest way I could think of doing this would be a custom screen saver that loaded a web page with iPlayer embedded, in much the same way as the OP here wanted. Not sure if a tool to create such a thing exists though.

In short, not impossible, but I suspect not straightforward. If you do crack it let us know!

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but the above example doesn't appear to function the same anymore.

When run it gives a holding message saying "Click here to view BBC News Channel at BBC Online".

Does anyone have a solution to have it autoplay and stay within the same webpage?

none of the above seems to work. BBC news 24 stream url's have stopped working too. I do this now:

Create a new shortcut and give the path: "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -k "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sw4hmqVPe0E&autoplay=1"

This full screens Sky News and seems to work quite well.
