IPOD apps

Hi all,

I am having problems here with the apps connecting to the internet through a proxy server.

I have put all the proxy settings in on the wi-fi section an connecting to the internet through safari is fine bit the apps dont work. The problem is a share dealing site which sends regular updates on share prices.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Unless the app has it's own settings lower down the settings page, there's not much you can do except report it to the app developer.

 

I don't use my iphone on our school internet connection, for some reason the proxy makes it really slooooooow to do anything.

Is the website where the stock data being accessed from blocked via the proxy?

 

I give my phone a fixed IP, then allow all sites via the internet/proxy filtering.

No, I can access the website fine through Safari. I would have thought the apps would use the same settings. The sites are not filtered.
