GavRob Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Hi my website is http://www.hilbre.wirral.sch.uk and my drop down menus(which are on layers) go behind the flash banner. it is created using dreamweaver, can any one help as no matter how i organise the layers the flash is always at the front
danIT Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Get a new menu thats shocking! its a real mis-mash of stuff, try one thats totally css http://www.cssplay.co.uk/menus/dd_valid.html this is a good menu. if i have time ill bang it into your site
danIT Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Just tried to slip that menu in, works pretty well but you need to decide wether your going to use tables or CSS layers? It gets complicated when you start building you site within layers and tables, tables within layers fine, but when your using css and tables for positionging elements its not the easiest. Theres planety of css templates out there that would easily mirror what you are trying to achieve. edit made purely with CSS no tables
GavRob Posted September 7, 2006 Author Posted September 7, 2006 They look very good, if they work over flash docs then i am interested in changing the site design. it may sound stupid but i couldn't get them to work on a blank document. Could you email me a demo of the working so i can manipulate it to fit my site. Thankyou Gavin [email protected]
saundersmatt Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 When creating your flash file, you need to change the Window Mode. Go to publish settings, HTML tab, and change window mode to transparent windowless. Equally place wmode=transparent within the tag in you html for your flash object. Matt Edit: Just seen your flash virtual tour (the floorplan one, not the photos.) How did you do that? Please tell me you used a tool i can download. I want something like that effect but don't have the time to create it by myself.
plexer Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 The floor plan does look good now if you could add a ilst of where all the high value equipment and computers are then the thieves will have a lovely downloadable loot list. But seriously it does look good. Ben
GavRob Posted September 7, 2006 Author Posted September 7, 2006 Thanxs guy's still needs some work though, the one i did recently also had video and room details
