MacBriar Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Here's a strange one for us; We have a Server 2003/Xp network with some laptop trolleys. Our previous wireless provision was through standalone netgear APs (602's I think). Clients joined the domain with no problems. Over the summer we rolled out a CISCO Managed Wireless LAN with 4402 controller and AP1131 AG access points. If attached to the new wireless LAN a client cannot join the domain or browse use NetBIOS names only IP addresses. If attached to an old AP it joins the domain and works OK. Once bound to the domain everything is fine apart from a few standalone non domain machines which can only browse network resources by IP not NetBIOS name. Any ideas?
storkyIV Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Almost definately a dns issue with the cisco I would have said. Are there any errors in the dns event logs?
