Hi all Have OD-AD magic triangle all authenticating properly, network home showing up in dock etc just fine. However finding the network home in the save dialog is confusing some pupils. Is there a way to have their network home folder show up as a mount in the finder side bar. At present under Shared the server name shows up and the pupils need to browse across the shares to reach their home folder. Any suggestions as to how to accomplish this as it would prevent them saving work on the local home folder on the macs. Many thanks

Maybe some progress at my end. If I set the preferences in the all.js file instead of an external cfg file they seem to apply without problems on my test machine. I will try this on another system in the morning and see if it can be rolled out by copying the app bundle using ARD.

WRT to the screenshot date and time refer to when it was taken. The error occurs after the login page mentioned when processing the submitted details. I have attached the screenshot of proxies, both http and https proxies are set to the same address and port. I have tried the link mention but ran into problems with a non admin user not being able to read the config file referenced. (I am thinking that this may be a permissions error within the firefox package as the config file is only readable by admin)

This has been set up the problem is that Safari can't open the page on our VLE and gives a kCFErrorDomainCFNetworkError 303 as shown in the attachment.

We are having problems with Safari 4.0.4 logging on to SSL secured sites (our VLE) over the C2K proxy. The same machine will work with Firefox installed.

Hi all Has anyone deployed Firefox in a managed OSX environment, I need to be able to set the proxy and the homepage for all users on each machine. Please help I am running into a wall on google

Here's a strange one for us; We have a Server 2003/Xp network with some laptop trolleys. Our previous wireless provision was through standalone netgear APs (602's I think). Clients joined the domain with no problems. Over the summer we rolled out a CISCO Managed Wireless LAN with 4402 controller and AP1131 AG access points. If attached to the new wireless LAN a client cannot join the domain or browse use NetBIOS names only IP addresses. If attached to an old AP it joins the domain and works OK. Once bound to the domain everything is fine apart from a few standalone non domain machines which can only browse network resources by IP not NetBIOS name. Any ideas?

Hi We have 15 macbooks bound to our server 2003 AD. To manage preferences for these we have bought in a mac mini running OSX server. The server is bound to AD and OD is running as per the guides. I have created a pupils OD group and added to it our AD students ou's (one for each year group), I can set preferences but they are not applying to the macs. Our AD structure is; Default domain Students 2001 (users in these ou's) 2002 2003 Staff (staff users in these ou's) Interesting in Workgroup manager I can see all the groups with the exception of the students group. Anyone got any ideas why prefs aren't coming down?

Hi Until I can convince the Powers that Be to spend some money on a Mac Mini with OSX server for our small Mac Network (15 machines) i need to find some way of mounting our Public directory from the Active Directory onto the client Mac machines which have been bound to the AD. This share is not writeable by students and is used as a resource area by teaching staff. I have created an Applescript application to sucessfully mount the share however I am stumped trying to force all users of machine to run this at login. The app runs sucessfully at login of the admin account but I am unsure of how to make all users run it when logging on from the Active Directory. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all, We have successfully integrated 15 MacBooks running Leopard into our 2003 AD. Clients can connect to the Internet, map their home drive and print. However I would like to be able to, control printing centrally, lock down the stations and map a public share at login. All tasks that could be undertaken using Workgroup Manager and an extended schema. I have read the white papers and watched the videos however we have one sticking point - we are using Windows 2003 not 2003 R2. Can I extend this schema and have it work or is there another way of using Workgroup Manager that doesn't involve the AD at all or an OSX server. Thanks

Trying to stop our enterprising darlings from running .exes from areas and pen drives on a 2003 server. I think I have the concept of software restriction policies in my head but can someone post a specific example of a path rule ? Our users map to \\servername\yeargroup\username as U: in profile and my documents is redirected to their area. What is best practice to add it to computer or user in the group policy? Thanks
