Joomla - News Module

We're looking to send our new Joomla site live, but before I do I wanted to get the front page news right.

 

We're looking for a module (preferably 'free') that looks similar to the one in the top right of the BBC homepage.

We want to be able to rotate through 3 or 4 of our latest news items.

 

Does anybody use one like this? Can you point me in the right direction?

 

 

There was something else I had to ask too but I've forgotten - I'm sure it will come to me soon enough

the only one I can think off is a yoocarousel but that requires money

That's the kind of stuff.... Just need a free alternative if possible
