Windows 2003 Server R2 - No printer ports !!

I have been configuring printers for the past couple of days in 'Add a Printer'. After a brief 'hang', the wizard no longer shows any ports in the 'Select a printer port' . None of the previously configured printers show any ports in their Properties/Port tabs. I have stopped and started the spooler service a couple of times and re-booted the server - no luck. Help!!

When you've restarted the spooler service is it still running when you've gone back to the wizard displaynig no printers etc... is definately a symptom of the spooler service not running.

 

Have you tried deleted your spool folder and restarting the service?

A badly written printer driver can cause the spooler to misbehave like this.
