Stop desktop icons being created in new profiles...?

Hi there

 

I hope someone can help as this is driving me nuts!

 

We've got some new PCs and all is working fine apart from the desktop redirection, which is failing because two desktop icons are being created by default in the local profile ('C:\Documents and Settings\anotheruser\Desktop'). Does anyone please know how stop XP Pro creating these icons for every new user?

Whic profile are the icons inherent in?

 

".Default" is the profile all users would get if they don't already have one (new user logging in for first time).

 

"All Users" is the profile most applications like to install things to so that all users can use those applications.

 

Check under both those accounts for the desktop directories, and delete the files.

Or am I missing the question here completely?

Thanks MrBeatnik. I'd totally overlooked the hidden 'Default' user profile...double :doh:! Deleting the offending icons from there has solved the problem. Muchos gracias! Now onto the next head scratcher...
