Timed power switch on...

OK...

 

The problem - due to the way they are configured, our switches need to be switched on in a particular order, with a couple of minutes between each tranche for them to "Settle Down". Fine, but we've been having quite frequent power outs (longer than our UPS's could sustain), which causes a big headache for us the next morning as we dash round the site to the different cabs restarting the switches...

 

The solution (?) - what I'm looking for is some sort of mains extension lead that only starts up after a predefined period of time after power comes back - so we could have 3 or 4 cascaded in each cab, with a different set of switches on each, as power is restored the first block would go live, and the second block would see there was power available, but wouldn't switch on for 2-3 minutes, then this would be repeated for each power block through the cascade.

 

Does anyone know of any product like this (can't even think of how to search for it??) - or could be an interesting little project for the home electronics hobbyist?

wont turn on after power starts back up but will turn on at the time you set it too (if the power has been turned back on and is up and running)

Maybe just some X10 kit and then just script it on a computer or such?

Can you configure your UPS to do this? There should be a setting specifying how long to wait after Mains power is restored before powering up devices.

Only for one level of delay - I need up to 4...
