Resetting Projector Pin Codes

Anyone know how to get projector pin codes reset?

 

We have a few old (5yr+) Hitachi's where the PIN codes were set but have long since been lost - and one teacher has managed to completely lock her self out (effectively bricking it!)

Get a student in detention to cycle through all ten thousand possibilities?

 

In all seriousness though, I know that with the older Epson projectors, they had to go back to manufacturer/reseller with proof of purchase etc to have the codes reset. Don't know if it's the same for Hitachi or not.
