Truecrypt encryption algorithm

Started playing around with Truecrypt here to use with staff laptops.

 

Just wondering what encryption algorithm people are using and why?

 

Attempting to look on other forums but getting frustrated now as our LEA like to block forums.

We're using 256bit AES.

Everyone too scared to risk two ciphers then?

AES, just because it was the most "vanilla" of the lot. With a decent password nobody is going to crack any of them any time soon so the choice was arbitrary really.

IME it's much more common to crack misuse of a crypto algorithm than the algorithm per se i.e. you're better off worrying about how an application uses it, whether they use it in the right mode, how keys are derived, stored and so on. But Truecrypt, being Truecrypt should be rather solid in that respect.
