laserblazer Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Here are some details. I use Lehman and am pleased with their service. Info Page 2
dhicks Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 I have a Sanyo Xacti camera that has been loaned out and returned damaged. Can anyone suggest the best place to send it for repair. Me too. I now have both our Canon digital SLR cameras out of action - one has some dust in the lense and, as of half an hour ago, a bent pin in the CF-card reader port, and the other is giving "err 99 - shooting is not possible" and freezing up whenever we press the shutter button. Do I take them to the nearest Jessops or other camera shop (probably Farnham or Woking), or can anyone recommend somewhere to post them off to? -- David Hicks
laserblazer Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Give the guys at Lehman a call, I'm not sure if they do SLRs but I would imagine so. It's pretty much the same technology. I'd give Jessops a miss. If for no other reason than they could go belly-up at any moment so I'm told!

Have you tried taking the backup battery out for 30 minutes to reset it? 1
pbrian49 Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Lehmanns in Stoke-on-Trent are authorised Canon repairers, they will also look at other makes too, including Nikon and Sanyo, I believe. They did provide us with an estimate of repair costs to a Nikon compact a couple of years ago. They will do SLRs too. Home - Lehmanns Direct
dhicks Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Have you tried taking the backup battery out for 30 minutes to reset it? I've tried leaving the main battery out for a day, I didn't know there was a backup battery - I'll check. Googling around a bit, I see that I should maybe disconnect the lense for a bit, too. -- David Hicks
