Dos_Box Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 From the latest PCW Magazine. They ran an open source artical and listed the best 55 downloads. This was one of them. Very nice it is too http://mediaportal.sourceforge.net/
Sirbendy Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Got it at home....like it lots. I'm not using it though...not the fault of Mediaportal itself. I have a Pinnacle PCTV Rave! TV card, and it doesn't work with it. I'm more inclined to blame the awful driver support to be honest. That said, I have a nice copy of XP MCE sat in my bedside table..and no, that also doesn't work with it!
Geoff Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Yep, got one in the car boot hooked up to my GPS LCD. Works great. Its got wireless too so I can access it from home when the car is in the drive. Don't recommend watching TV while your driving though.
Sirbendy Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Nice..Thought about an in-car PC, but Winters dark nights have sapped my energy.. I could alway sellotape my Inspiron to the dash..

goodhead Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 i've just replaced my crt tv with a lcd and want to connect a media centre. I'm inclined to go with mediaportal. My pc struggles with it. i think it needs bigger cpu. It would be nice if there was an IE plugin for it. I cant get the firefox plugin to work.
