Dos_Box Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Well, it looks like the memory controller on my media PC has fried itself after all (see here: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/hardware/40364-when-ram-goes-bad.html) as new RAM still will not run with more than one stick installed What I now need is a motherboard with teh following: Socket 775 (for Core 2 E7400) 4 RAM Slots for 8 GB DDRII PC800 3 PCI slots 1x PCIe X16 1x PCIx X1 LAN I'm not too bothered about onboard graphics and sound as I have both in quality cards. Oh, and if any of you are looking at this sexy little minx Computer Shopper: Product Reviews: Asus Xonar HDAV 1.3 Slim please be aware that the final W7 drivers are not yet available and it does not work correctly with the W7 RTM version, even using the Vista drivers. Asus are currently working on the drivers and software as we speak, as I've just found out to my horror!
