mb2k01 Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Hi All, Do any of you uber knowledgeable people know of a piece of software (ideally free but doesn't matter that much if it isn't) that would allow me to design and print a questionnaire which could later be read via OMR? I have a DRS CD230 sat in our admin office collecting dust (we do electronic registration now) which I would like to put to good use by collating questionnaire results from a staff / parent / pupil IT&C survey. The only one I've come across so far is SpeedQuest which I'm awaiting details on. Any other recommendations?
SteveBentley Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I don't know if Speedquest has the same limitations as the Multiquest app we use for tests, but you may find you have to get Speedwell to create a decode file for each type of form you want to use, at considerable expense. We went down the route of Kofax Ascent Capture and a scanner with a sheet feeder to do questionnaires, which while it's a pain to set up is a lot more flexible. 1
mb2k01 Posted August 27, 2009 Author Posted August 27, 2009 Hi Steve, Thanks for the speedy reply. Do you happen to remember a rough figure you paid for the software?
SteveBentley Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Bear in mind this was something like 5 years ago, but I don't think we got much change out of £2,500, and paid the same again for a very nice Panasonic high speed scanner. Luckily it came out of a project funding grant!
srochford Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I've used Remark Office OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) software for collecting and analyzing data from plain-paper forms. in the past - can't remember the price but it was quite reasonable.
