Shorty Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Hi All, We have just purchased 4 Ruckus APs and Zone director from CP (thanks Simon) very impressed so far just had one AP up and its covering the same area I was having to use 2/3 of my old dlinks on. One question I have our exisiting wireless network is setup with 6 APs all using the same SSID on a different channel to allow roaming around the site. Even though I have the new Ruckus setup I am wanting to still use some of the old APS as they are on omni directional aerials in a few venues that I still wish to keep going. Can I simply put the SSID of the Ruckus the same as the others and allow seamless connections ? Cheers John 1
ahuxham Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Yes, and if they support IAPP you'll find hand-overs almost instant. Our site covers 5 very large buildings, and all our access points are on the same SSID, albeit different channels depending on area and never had any fault with them, hand-over is pretty seemless as well.
