FN-GM Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Hi, I would like the ability to only allow year 9 into a course. I dont want to use an enrolment key All my Year 9's are in a group. How can i manually enrol users in a course? What permissions can i set on a course to only allow users in one group to view the course? Thanks Z
apoth0r Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Add the students to the course then allow the course to be unenrolable. Then only the Year 9's you want will have access and there will be no key! Boom.
FN-GM Posted August 24, 2009 Author Posted August 24, 2009 Yer, thats what i am talking about but how do you do it?
secretlife Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 go into the course and then go to course admin>assign roles and click on student. Then select and move with the arrow the students from the right (potential ) to the left (exisiting). If your users are identified with, say, a year in our username (as ours are) that makes it easier. Alternatively you can upload a flat file with the students straight into that group but I have always found it just as quick to do it manually (ie, get our apprentice to do it manually) Then I've blocked the course off with an enrolment key - or previous poster suggests, make it unenrollable.
FN-GM Posted August 24, 2009 Author Posted August 24, 2009 Im going to make it unenrollable, if i do this with yoursteps will it allow only the students i select?
secretlife Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Should do. Once you have enrolled those students into it then if you make it unenrollable then other students won't be able to enrol.
