andy_nic Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Help we have a SAN but the drives have triangle and a power symbol, I think its runing a scrub why is this happening and should this stop people from seeing/ connecting the drives? First it was just 1 drive not all 3 have started.
tmcd35 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 If the array is doing an administrative task it may be slowing drive access down enough for windows to time out any access requests. I had the same problem on my last SAN when one of the drives went. It was so busy rebuilding the array on to one of the hot spares that access was slowed down to a crawl and quiet a very people had access problems. Then again it was a RAID-50 of 7200rpm SATA drives so I couldn't have expected too much from it
andy_nic Posted August 24, 2009 Author Posted August 24, 2009 its a HP MSA MODEL 2012i, one drive has finished now but the one with all the data is around 1400GB so its gonna take some time:(
andy_nic Posted August 24, 2009 Author Posted August 24, 2009 now the one that had finished has started again:(
andy_nic Posted August 24, 2009 Author Posted August 24, 2009 it just keeps going in circles:( it finishs then restarts the the scrub
plexer Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Please tell us what you did for future reference. Thanks. Ben
andy_nic Posted August 24, 2009 Author Posted August 24, 2009 Restarted the switch, the server could see the SAN but not the network. And according to HP it’s normal for the SAN to always do scrub:) 1
