localzuk Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 I could not find any references to any 'technical' support staff roles ..... at my school we have Sports, Design/Technology, ICT,Science technicians .... what happens to them? They're just classed as support staff... They don't have to list every role.
russdev Posted August 6, 2009 Author Posted August 6, 2009 227 “School support staff” (1) This section has effect for the purposes of this Chapter. 25 (2) “School support staff” are persons within subsection (3). (3) A person is within this subsection if the person— (a) is employed by a local education authority in England or the governing body of a school maintained by a local education authority in England, under a contract of employment providing for the person to work 30 wholly at a school or schools maintained by a local education authority in England; (b) is not a school teacher, or a person of a prescribed description. (4) In this section, “school teacher” means a person who is a school teacher for the purposes of section 122 of the Education Act 2002 (c. 32). In simple terms anyone in a school not employed as teacher is covered. But the scheme does not include anyone being paid under conditions such as JNC youth worker conditions and craft workers (people covered by the red book). Russ
K.C.Leblanc Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 In English does this mean it's going to take even longer then last year. I know the increase will probably be a lot smaller. Thank god for increments.
russdev Posted August 6, 2009 Author Posted August 6, 2009 Well in real terms the existing scheme continues until they report back etc with agreed time frame and scales etc. So by May next year they have as I read it have everything in place to start the roll out etc. So next years pay will continue under the old scheme for now.
