Gatt Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 (edited) OK we have just redesigned our network (one Subent, VLAN and Domain) Have reconfigured our Smoothie box to match the new settings : Hostname, Internal IP, External IP, DNS,e tc However.. I cannot contact the Smoothie box from another PC and the Smoothie Box cannot see any other PC on the network: All I am getting is Destination Host Unreachable Initial config: Hostname: Proxy Int IP: 192.168.200.7 Ext. IP: 192.168.200.8 Current Config: as above but no Ext Interface.. Both do same thing. Cant get to the Web Interface to backup my settings so I can try a rebuild Edited July 30, 2009 by Gatt

Cant get to the Web Interface to backup my settings so I can try a rebuild Was the external interface just not plugged in or actually changed to something else? It's not going to know which interface to route traffic back to if int/ext are on the same subnet.
Gatt Posted July 30, 2009 Author Posted July 30, 2009 Ext was plugged in.. How can I get smoothwall to work on a single subnet?
rob_f Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Hi gatt, just left the office for the day, as tom may have too. Give me a call in the morning if you're free and we'll try and work out what's going on. 0870 1 999 500 opt 1. Thanks! Rob. 1
Gatt Posted August 4, 2009 Author Posted August 4, 2009 Fixed!! Lokos like a corrupt routing table - was showing 3 default gateways on same NIC ran the routef command which sorted it
Gatt Posted August 4, 2009 Author Posted August 4, 2009 Argh!! Just rebooted after installing some updates and the routing table is back to what it was running routef resolves it again - but get strong feeling its only a temp fix ANyone know how to safely rebuild the routing tables?
tom_newton Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Sorry Gatt, I have been out of the office all day and am now in a travel inn near soton airport, contending with nasty 115kbps bluetooth modem, since somebody has no ADSL in his flat and has borrowed the voda dongle.... speaking of RobF, he's been training folk all day (and will be tomorrow too), so you may be as well giving the tech support chaps a ring. Normal service will resume shortly
Oops_my_bad Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Did you ever get sorted with this? We are in the same boat... INT/EXT interface on same subnet....
